I love how you visually explained his techniques using your drawings as well. Reading more of his work got me to notice the way he puts solid black shadows under his characters instead of hatch lines. It creates a nice sense of weight inside the panel.

Now that you mention it - he even puts shadow under Donald's slipstream in panel 3!
